Position Overview

MESH Project Delivery Partners (MESH) is seeking an experienced data center project manager to support large-scale data center projects. You will partner with the owner’s team to deliver mission-critical facilities with full lifecycle oversight.

The Project Manager will be accountable for providing independent oversight of the General Contractor, design team (A/E), Commissioning Agent, suppliers, and other contractors, serving as the owner’s “eyes and ears” onsite.

The ideal candidate combines strong mission critical construction expertise with the project management skills, contract acumen, and a proactive “hands-on” approach to delivering hyperscale and colocation data center projects.

Key Responsibilities

You will act as the primary interface between the owner’s development and construction team and the General Contractor (GC), Architect (A), Engineer (E), Commissioning Agent (CxA), and other consultants and vendors.

  • Act as day-to-day liaison and owner’s eyes/ears with GCs, vendors, and internal teams.

  • Oversee design teams, general contractors, specialty vendors, and subcontractor performance through all phases of project execution, including turnover and close out.

  • Provide governance and oversight to help ensure the design team and GC are accountable to the contract documents, including budget, and schedule.

  • Manage and Track project financials (billing, costs, contracts) and value-engineering while protecting owner interests.

  • Handle reporting, meetings, logs, and full project administration (MS Project/Primavera preferred).

  • Serve as the communication hub connecting the owner, project team, stakeholders, MESH leadership, and all external parties.

  • Establish master schedule and budget, manage/oversee bidding, permitting, value engineering, and constructability reviews.

  • Coordinate the efforts of team with QA, commissioning, safety, and key partners; attend meetings and drive issue resolution.

  • Manage logistics, handover, and daily information flow to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery.

  • Anticipate and surface risks early, drive timely decisions, and prevent surprises reaching the owner.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (equivalent experience considered).

  • 5+ years of progressive construction project management experience, including delivery of complex commercial or industrial projects.

  • Knowledge of design management, procurement, construction administration, and commissioning.

  • Experience managing budgets, schedules, contracts, and change-management processes.

  • Strong understanding of construction contracts.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead meetings.

  • Proficiency with MS Project or Primavera P6, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.

  • Based in or able to commute to the Houston, TX area and work on-site as required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in the Texas data center market, including local AHJ and utility processes.

  • PMP, CCM, DBIA, LEED, or similar relevant accreditation.

  • Experience supporting hyperscale and / or colocation clients and their delivery standards.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This is a primarily on-site role with time split between an on-site project office and active construction areas. The position requires the ability to access and walk active construction sites, including uneven terrain, ladders, and elevated areas, while observing all site safety requirements and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). No travel is required for the current project, though future opportunities may involve travel.

Equal Opportunity & Compensation

MESH is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. A comprehensive benefits package is offered.
